Last night I got to see an amazingly beautiful sunset. This morning I woke up to a fantastic sunrise. God’s creation is wonderful. Part of His creation is the passing of time. The sun rises to welcome a new day and then sets to close the day. And this continues through the years as we get older. Solomon said that “The sun rises, and the sun goes down, and hastens to the place where it rises” (Ecclesiastes 1:5). And he also wrote that “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven…” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). We will, Lord willing, have many sunrises and sunsets. And it is a beautiful part of life.
One sunrise in my life came 7 years ago. I was given a great opportunity to move to Pell City, AL and work with the brethren that live here. It was a beautiful sunrise. The beginning of a 7 year journey. The sun has been shining these past 7 years in the work of the church here. We have come to have a great love for the brethren. They have been so good, loving, and encouraging to me and my family. We have enjoyed many things together in our work for the Lord. I cannot thank them enough. This was my first full time work. It will always remain in my heart as the first. The beginning of a great adventure. But, there is a time for everything in this life. We have now reached the sunset of our time here. It is a beautiful one. This is a bittersweet time for us. This sunset is happening on good terms which makes it very hard. We love the church here and will really miss them. I am so thankful that we are not having to leave due to any anger or wrongdoing. Unfortunately that happens with many churches. But not here. Not for us. The beauty of this sunset will always be in our memory.
But when there’s a sunset you know the there is a sunrise coming. Our new sunrise has come. We have another wonderful opportunity to be a part of something great in our service to God. Today we are leaving Pell City and moving to the Trenton Florida area. Our goal is to work towards spreading the gospel in the community and helping the church there grow in any way we can as members of it. We are excited to be a part of the church family in Trenton. They are another wonderful group and I know we will love living there. Our plan is to spend 3 years there doing our best. And then, Lord willing, we will yet again come to a sunset and seek another sunrise. We look forward to this new time period in our life.
I highly commend both of these churches. I love them. I thank them. I pray for them. I’ve enjoyed this sunset and sunrise. My prayer for all of us is that God will bless us with many more enjoyable sunrises and sunsets.
To GOD be the glory. God bless.
Well said son and you have done a great work in Pell City. The 7 years you were there is testimony to your faithfulness. Looking forward to having you closer. Love you.

I agree sunrises and sunsets are amazing things in God’s creation. We are thankful for many things, including His creation and for the opportunity to have you and your family be with us.
