Sloths move really really slow. They go so slow that algae grows on them. They just inch along dull and boring. I don’t believe anyone has a sloth as their school mascott. Why? Because everybody wants something that will represent strength and excitement. Hard work and effort. That ain’t sloths.
When it comes to our relationship with God and serving Him, are we a sloth? Just inching along not really doing anything. No energy. No real effort. No real insterest. Dull and boring. If we are a sloth, then let’s change that.
Paul said in Romans 12:11″Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.” Paul is trying to pump us up. Get us moving. Get us busy. With such an awesome God that we serve, why would we want to be slothful. Get zeal! Get excited. Feel it in your heart. Live in the Spirit. Serve the Lord with joy in your heart. With purpose. With action.
Are you a sloth today? Let’s change that. Don’t be slothful. Be fervent in spirit! Serve the Lord.
