Key To A Good Day

Happy Monday everybody! Mondays can be challenging as we try to start our work week. A lot of us are probably tired today. We begin to interact with people again as we start working. Every day we are faced with choices to make, work to do, and people to deal with. All of this can be a test of our moral fiber and character. Satan is going to try hard today to get us to sin against God, neglect our work, and fail in our relationships with people. But there’s hope! God has given us the key to having a good day today and every day. The key to successful, fulfilling, and fruitful living.

We see God’s key to life in the Law of Moses when God gave the Israelites the 10 commandments. God said through His commands that He is to be loved and honored as Lord and that they were to love each other. Jesus wraps up the whole law and gives the key to life in Matthew 22:37-40 when He said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Jesus told it plain and simple. Love God and love each other. That’s it. That takes care of everything. Every problem. Every fight. Every envy, anger, or dispute. Every temptation. Paul repeated the same for us in Romans 13:9-10, “For the commandments, ‘You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,’ and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” If in our love for God we love one another, then there will be no sin. Loving God and loving one another takes care of anything. It is the key to obeying God’s commandments. It is essential to relationships.

Today we’ve got choices to make. Some easy. Some not so easy. But if we will follow this rule that God has given us to live by, then our lives and our days are going to be so much better. When making a decision in the moment, when deciding whether you’re going to work with sincerity of heart, and when dealing with people remind yourself that you are to love God and love others as yourself. Watch the results of love. It makes a big difference. I want us all to have a great day every day. Let’s love God and love each other. Life works when we do it God’s way. Make it a good day.
