Our God is a God of Righteousness. He is a God of Justice. He is a God of Truth. He is a God of Love. These are the things God takes pleasure in. These are the characteristics of God. God takes no joy in evil. He hates injustice. He has nothing to do with falsehood. God loves righteous deeds. God wants truth to prevail. Good triumphs over evil.
When it comes to the way we are to love, Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:6 that we are to be like the God we serve. LOVE does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. GOD does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. WE should not rejoice at wrongdoing, but should rejoice with the truth.
There is no joy when there is injustice happening. We cannot be unjust. We cannot do evil. Love causes us to take joy in the truth. We rejoice when right and truth prevail. We do not approve iniquity. Evil is not our friend. When others do wrong we do not smile. We can’t take sin lightly. We are not to sin ourselves and we are not to approve of those who do. We are to approve what is right. Holy. Just. Pure. Truth has to be our friend. Righteousness needs to bring us pleasure. Justice is to be our goal.
Satan rejoices in wrongdoing. God rejoices in righteousness. So which one do we rejoice in? I want to be like God and love like God. I don’t want to have anything in common with Satan. What about you? Love does not rejoice in evil. Love rejoices in what’s right. Don’t rejoice in evil. Don’t like sin. Love God. Love others. Find your pleasure in God’s righteousness.
