Do you want to see God? Do you want to be with God in Heaven? I sure do. Imagine what it will be like to finally get to see God. To see Jesus. To be in their presence forever. Is that not what we’re all living for? We want to go to Heaven. What a day that will be. Eternal life. Eternal joy. Eternal peace. And here’s the good news. Jesus tells us how we can make that happen. Jesus has paved the way for us to be with God. All we have to do is trust and obey Him. If I want to see God, then I will eagerly do whatever God has told me to do.
Jesus has given us an aphorism that teaches us what to do if we want to see God one day. Jesus said in Matthew 5:8, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” They. Will. See. God. Four words that are the best to hear.
God has called us to be holy. To be holy like He is holy. If I love God and want to be with God then I have to be like God. Pure. Righteous. Godly. Being pure in heart is living a life free from sin. We have been forgiven by God and He has cleaned our hearts. He has taken our sins and guilt out of our hearts. We are not to put them back in. This is important because it involves every part of our lives. We are to be pure in our thoughts, our feelings, our words, and our actions. It all comes from the heart. And what we put into our minds and hearts will come out in the way we live. Junk in, junk out. Sin in, sin out. We need to remember this when we are watching TV. Ont he internet. Listening to music. With our friends. With our family. By ourselves. Purity in all things has to be our goal if we are going to be pure in heart.
Is your heart pure? Is my heart pure? Or is there still sin making a mess of it? I want to see God one day. I want to be with Him forever. I’m sure you do too. Then let’s reject all sin and live our lives in purity and holiness. Blessed are the pure in heart. They will see God. Let’s all go see Him together. Be pure.
