Hebrews 13: DO GOOD & SHARE

Paul tells us in Ephesians 2:10 that God has saved us, created us in Christ Jesus for the purpose of doing the good works He has planned for us to do. Living a godly, loving, righteous life. Paul tells us in Titus 2:14 that we are to be zealous for good works. That’s who God wants us to be. His special people. A people who are excited about and active in good works.

Look at what the Hebrews writer tells us in Hebrews 13:16, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

There are all kinds of opportunities around us, great and small, that we can take advantage of to do good. But are we? Are there good works that we can do that we are neglecting? Are there needs around us that we are oblivious to by our own neglect? We should be living each day making the best use of the time to be active in good works and serving others in love. Sharing. Caring. Giving. Helping. Encouraging. Supporting. Comforting. Physically. Emotionally. Financially. Above all spiritually.

Let’s all look around us daily. Family. Friends. Coworkers. Neighbors. Be active in good works. Show Christ living in you. Give glory to the Father. Love. Share. Give. Serve. With that in mind read these words of the Hebrews writer and use them in your prayers daily: “Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen” (Hebrews 13:20-21).
